In Your Write Mind is the annual public writing workshop put on by alumni from the MFA in Writing Popular Fiction program at Seton Hill University. Offering a taste of what our MFA program is like, this event is open to public registration and features genre-oriented critique workshops, panel discussions, professional classes, pitch session opportunities and a huge book fair. It often even includes a costume ball.

This year’s event will include a VIRTUAL “all access” track.  The conference will take place live and online June 23-26, 2022. Business and Craft Tracks. Pitch Sessions. Virtual Book Signing. Networking. Author Readings. Writing Sprints. Critique Groups. And more!

Arnzen will be running a class on the virtual track only, called “Losing It” on Saturday, 9am.

LOSING IT:  When Characters are Shaken
We all know what it’s like to feel like we’re “losing our mind” during times of high stress, anxiety attacks, and panic situations. This 1 hour talk by Dr. Michael Arnzen will explore methods for crafting these moments through fiction, when the writer is in control, but their character is “losing it.”  The lesson will be oriented to all writers of all genres, though it will borrow several lessons from horror history.
There are many other courses and special guests.  REGISTER on their website.

IYWM is a workshop that is run by alumni associated with the Writing Popular Fiction MFA program at Seton Hill University, located just outside of Pittsburgh in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Arnzen teaches in the graduate program there, at SHU full-time.
