The Frostburg State University Center for Creative Writing, in partnership with the Allegany County Library System, is excited to announce that the fifth annual Western Maryland Small and Regional Press Festival is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 15, from 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., at Main Street, Frostburg. The event brings together editors and publishers with writers and educators of the local community. Panel discussions and roundtable sessions include topics on various creative genres, DIY publishing, self-publishing, promotion and marketing, writing local, and reading and writing online.
I’ll be attending along with my “Many Genres” co-editor, Heidi Ruby Miller, and alongside publishers Headline Books and 100 Jolts publisher Raw Dog Screaming Press. I’m told I’ll be on a few panels, like one on “Horror” at 11:30am and one on “Publishing Basics” at 12:30. Free and open to the public — come on by! For more information visit http://www.frostburg.edu/cwcenter or the Frostburg Center for Creative Writing at 301.687.4340.
There is a schedule of events now posted on the CWCenter’s home page. Did some reseach, as I was feeling really lost about where to show up in the morning. The Festival is full of events spread over downtown Frostburg, MD.10:30 am: Registration at 22 E Main St, Downtown Frostburg; Panel on Publishing, 11:30am at City Place (14 S Water St); Panel on SF/F/HORROR 12:30p at Mountain City Traditional Arts Center (25 E.
