New Post to The Popular Uncanny blog on “The Uncanny Valley and Intellectual Uncertainty”

Just added a new essay to my theory blog on The Popular Uncanny:  "The Uncanny Valley and Intellectual Uncertainty" -- a review and reaction to an interesting cognitive study just published on the brain's response to the uncanny valley. Photos from the Alpha Workshop Readings

See the full gallery on Posterous I enjoyed dropping by the fiction readings sponsored by the Alpha Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Workshop for Young Writers this evening in Greensburg, PA. Writers who instruct in the workshops this year included David Levine, Scott Johnson and David Barr Kirtley -- all pictured here. The book I co-edited, Many Genres, One Craft, was also sold at the event, where contributor and Alpha guru Diane Turnshek walked among us. An entertaining night! Congrats on ten years of workshops, Alphans!
