Photos from the Alpha Workshop Readings

See the full gallery on Posterous I enjoyed dropping by the fiction readings sponsored by the Alpha Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Workshop for Young Writers this evening in Greensburg, PA. Writers who instruct in the workshops this year included David Levine, Scott Johnson and David Barr Kirtley -- all pictured here. The book I co-edited, Many Genres, One Craft, was also sold at the event, where contributor and Alpha guru Diane Turnshek walked among us. An entertaining night! Congrats on ten years of workshops, Alphans!

Photos from the HUGE #SHUWPF launch party for MANY GENRES and alumni book signing at Seton Hill U

There was a tremendous turnout for the alumni book signing event at Seton Hill University last night, which featured the launch party for Many Genres, One Craft: Lessons in Writing Popular Fiction with about 30 of the contributors in attendance (sporting buttons so people could locate them and get copies signed). My co-editor, Heidi Ruby Miller, has posted a batch of great shots on her blog, as well. Update, 6.27: The Pittsburgh Tribune Review covered the event. Here's their article about it.

Drop by the Many Genres One Craft weblog for some great photos from the event, which was held during the writers residency for our MFA program in Writing Popular Fiction. Horror writers in attendance included Gary Braunbeck, Tim Waggoner, Scott Johnson, Lawrence Connolly, Jean-Loup Benet, Lucy Snyder, Kristin Dearborn, Paul Popiel, David Corwell, Sheldon Higdon and many many more.
