I’m Leaving Twitter/X

I’m Leaving Twitter/X

Today I deleted all content from my X.com page (formerly Twitter). My motivation is not merely political, or in protest, though of course I am doing that. It's also because I have not been happy with the erosion of the site as a platform for public discourse for quite some time now, and both the newsfeed and the technology have become entirely unstable. The app only worked intermittently on my phone ever since the transition from Twitter to X. The site also deleted my newsletter (through its subsidiary "Revue" platform, which it canceled) after Elon Musk wrested ownership of the…
Halloween Season 2021

Halloween Season 2021

Image by Jeff C. Carter Happy harvest time, loyal readers, old friends and new visitors! October is always the busiest month of the year for horror fiends, and my Halloween season this year is no exception. If you've seen my events page, you know I'll be reading at such places as the Chatham University library and a PARSEC panel of horror writers, along with an outdoor session by the fire at the annual Seton Hill University English Club spooky story night. I'll be co-organizing a meeting of the Pittsburgh chapter of the HWA at the Horror Studies archive at U…

Keep your eyes on this for a new horror story posted daily throughout this October ⚡️ “#Joltober: A Horror Story a Day for October (2018)”https://t.co/J3R4IpjcXr— Michael Arnzen…

National Poetry Writing Month 2013

[NOTE: The entries containing poems originally appearing on the calendar below were lost during a blog software update... I may be able to recover them at a later time.] I've signed up over at NaPoWriMo.net, committing to try to write and post a new poem every day throughout April for "National Poetry Writing Month". My plan is to mix things up regularly: to post twitter poems, full-length gorelets, some audio recordings, videos, word art, and more Fridge of the Damned magnet poetry pieces. Return to this calendar page for all this, which I'm posting off the main blog to avoid…
