In 2004, The Goreletter won the Bram Stoker Award for "Superior Achievement in Alternative Forms." And it was nominated again the following year. This category was retired by the Horror Writers Association in 2006. You can read my [[speeches:2003_bram_stoker_award_acceptance_speech|acceptance speech]]. In 2012, poetry from The Goreletter was selected to be included in the book, [[https://gorelets.com/books/the-gorelets-omnibus/|The Gorelets Omnibus]], alongside the original "gorelets" series of short-short poems that predated (and actually created the desire for) the newsletter. Most of the writing prompts in the "instigation" department were also published in [[https://gorelets.com/books/instigation-creative-prompts-on-the-dark-side/|Instigation: Creative Prompts from the Dark Side]] in 2013. Volumes 8-12 (2013-2017) were distributed via the [[https://mailchimp.com/|mailchimp]] newsletter service, to allow for HTML formatting. The number of subscribers had also become too large for the server at gorelets to handle efficiently. Volume 13 (2021-present) resumed distribution after a four year hiatus (due to security concerns), moving over to the robust [[https://www.getrevue.co/|Revue]] newsletter service. [[https://www.getrevue.co/profile/mikearnzen|**Former subscribers have to re-enroll**]] to be on the mailing list for this new newsletter.
