Stephen King scholar (and current Horror Writer Association president) Rocky Wood — who I’ve corresponded with a few times over the years and finally met face to face at the Stoker Weekend last month — is selling off items from his substantial King collection to help him pay for medical expenses associated with the onset of Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Rocky’s a phenomenally nice man and well-deserving of your support. I’ll never forget when Rocky helped me out by sharing some research on King’s essay on the ratings system, “The Dreaded X,” from Castle Rock, which I relied on for my essay on “The Humor and Horror of Maximum Overdrive” for the book The Films of Stephen King (ed.
